Job Description Job Description This full-time position is support for order pulling and forklift support for agency orders, product recovery, Food Bank drivers (as needed), and finished goods put-away. This position will act as order selector, forklift operator, and receiver or any other capacity will be required on an as needed basis. Specifically, the hours of this position is 7:00am-4pm, M-F.
Essential Functions: Pull, pick, and stage product for agency order utilizing pick ticket system. Responsible for daily warehouse and equipment organization and cleanliness with pre-shift equipment checks. Safe operation of forklift and other equipment for the process of moving pallets and entering/exiting tight quarters with product.
Must be able to fulfill all duties and requirements of a Warehouse Receiver or Forklift Operator and will receive shipments, and other forklift support activities upon request or as demand dictates. Accurate and efficient pallet put-away: placing and tagging appropriate pallet tags, safe movement into correct racking and locations. Locations where work is needed will vary and will include the dry warehouse, coolers (40 degrees) and freezer (-15 degrees).
Accurate and efficient pallet drops using Warehouse Management System to scan locations, pallet tags and move pallets in racking to appropriate locations for pullers. All other duties as assigned General Warehouse Activities Clean warehouse and product recovery area on a daily basis Maintain pest control log Update the recall board on a weekly basis Advise of any repairs to management Keep the warehouse, freezers, and coolers cleaned and organized Maintain the warehouse to meet all Health Department and Feeding America guidelines. Complies with and makes sure all rules and regulation are followed by volunteers, inmates, and community service.
Training Activities Practice safe handling procedures Responsible for training trustees, court-appointed community service, and volunteers on sorting procedures. Keeps current on all rules and regulations from Feeding America, Department of State Health Services and the Amarillo Public Health Department Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must pass background investigation, pre-employment physical and drug test. Must have reliable transportation.

Auditory attention and hearing sensitivity is required, as candidates must possess the ability to distinguish various sounds that serve as key maintenance indicators. Must employ the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the company’s Environmental, Health, and Safety policies Work Environment: Full exposure to extreme weather changes and humidity/moisture relative to atmospheric condition variations. Includes exposure to extreme summer and winter temperatures, as well as rain, sleet, and snow.
Full exposure to dust, chemicals, gases, fumes, smoke, excessive noise, and/or vibrations. Work generally performed in an industrial environment (indoor or outdoor) with various hazards and noise exposure. Travel may be required for assignments, meetings, and training.
Overtime, Weekend and/or Holiday hours may be required. HPFB partners with 165 different agencies, including churches, senior centers, child care facilities, halfway houses, soup kitchens, Kids Cafes, emergency pantries, shelters, and other nonprofits. Counties in our 30,000 square mile service area include Armstrong, Briscoe, Carson, Castro, Childress, Collingsworth, Cottle, Dallam, Deaf Smith, Donley, Gray, Hale, Hall, Hansford, Hardeman, Hartley, Hemphill, Hutchinson, Lipscomb, Moore, Ochiltree, Oldham, Parmer, Potter, Randall, Roberts, Sherman, Swisher, and Wheeler.
