Job Description Job Description Job Summary: The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is responsible for providing support, guidance, and direction to the shipping and receiving team. This role is responsible for receiving, stocking, and loading company products. The Shipping & Receiving supervisor will maintain the company’s ERP system to ensure accurate and efficient tracking of inventory.
Duties/Responsibilities: · Directs the day-to-day workflow of the shipping & receiving team. Monitors the warehouse and yard activities, coordinates delivery scheduling and loading duties, and manages inventory. · Coordinates yard attendants to ensure accurate loading of customer orders. · Provide leadership and direction to shift personnel to meet the shipping and receiving department goals. · Work with Operations Leadership, Safety Manager, and other sources to provide training in safe and efficient. · Maintains yard layout standards and protocol, ensuring adherence to yard setup standards and yard areas are kept clean and organized. · Coordinate with the production and customer support teams to determine an appropriate schedules and work assignments to balance workloads. · Conduct inventory counts and maintain inventory records. · Other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: · Ability to operate and maintain equipment, such as forklifts. · Strong communication skills and the ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with teammates and direct reports. · Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under time constraints and strict deadlines. · Self-motivated and willingness to take initiative. · Intermediate working knowledge of PC environment and MS Office programs including Excel, Word, and Outlook and other inventory management software. · Strong leadership skills.
Education and Experience: Job Title Shipping & Receiving Supervisor Department Shipping & Receiving Reports To Operations Manager FLSA Status Exempt · High school degree or GED; minimum 3 years related experience or combination of experience and education that demonstrates the ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities. · Minimum of 2 year of previous experience in inventory management, warehouse, or distribution centers. · Minimum of one year of supervisory or leadership experience. · Bilingual skills (Spanish) preferred. Supervisory Responsibilities: · 4-6 direct reports Physical Requirements: · Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly, as well as reach, climb stairs and ladders to complete tasks. · Must be able to operate a forklift · Must be able to visually operate office equipment including computers and monitors. · Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move 50 lbs.
