Job Description Job Description Salary: DOE The Class A Heavy Haul Driver will be responsible for transporting goods from one place to another using heavy or tractor-trailer trucks. Currently this position reports to an M5 location in South San Antonio and will occasionally report to our Corporate Office as needed. Duties/Responsibilities: Deliver goods via a heavy truck, sometimes over intercity routes.

Load and unload cargo. Record amount and type of cargo being delivered. Keep their truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order.

Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel. Report all accidents, near misses and other hazards. Planning routes efficiently and delivering freight on time.

Complying with deferral and state trucking rules and regulations, including mandatory rest periods and weight restrictions. Required Skills/Abilities: Applicable commercial driver’s license (CDL). Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.

Works well independently and with others under pressure. Good communication skills. Organized with attention to detail.

Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment. Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED Minimum of 3 years of heavy haul and/or haul dump experience. A clean driving record, as well as sound knowledge of truck maintenance.

Knowledge of federal and state laws that regulate the road freight transport industry. Physical Requirements: Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery. Must be able to visually inspect machines.
