Material Handler Service Wire is a premier manufacturer of industrial, utility, and commercial wire and cable. Our regional manufacturing location in Houston is seeking a conscientious and team-oriented Material Handler with proficiency with high-reach forklifts to join our organization in this full-time position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES · Process material cuts according to customer specifications and record distribution data · Palletize and prepare orders for shipment using a stand-up, high-reach forklift · Work to maintain inventory stock and an organized warehouse · Transports wire and materials throughout facility on a forklift · Maintain safety standards and organized work environment QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS · High-reach forklift proficiency · Basic math and measuring skills · Ability to read, comprehend, and respond to general instructions and directions · Ability to stand and move about facility for extended periods · Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
Assistance provided as needed. · Company forklift operation training and certification · High school diploma/GED (General Equivalency Diploma) or one year related industrial experience or equivalent training Must be able to work in hot and cold environments without climate-control. In-person attendance is an essential function of the job This is a second shift position (2:45 pm – 11:15 pm).
